Yamaguchi Prefectural Art Museum

Yamaguchi Prefectural Art Museum

Since its establishment in 1979, Yamaguchi Prefectural Art Museum has focused mainly on revealing the local color of Yamaguchi Prefecture through the arts. Aiming to encourage cultural and artistic development within the prefecture, the museum holds special exhibitions that delve into local culture since the time of the Ouchi clan in the middle ages, such as the ink wash paintings of Toyo Sesshu, or feature artists with a connection to Yamaguchi, such as Yasuo Kazuki. In addition to a rotating collection in the Permanent Exhibition Galleries, the museum also holds exhibitions that introduce various arts and cultures from all ages and countries. There is also a café and museum shop.
