YAMAGUCHI CITY “SAIKŌTEI”
Originally a luxury restaurant frequented by politicians and intellectuals, this beautiful traditional style building, now converted into a museum, was named by Kaoru Inoue, one of the most prominent figures of the Meiji government. The walls on its main hall are lined with calligraphy art by Japanese politicians, including several prime ministers, that visitors can enjoy while drinking a cup of matcha tea and a Japanese sweet, before stepping outside to enjoy a view of the garden. Additionally, Saikotei offers a kimono rental and dressing service for visitors.
