Kido Shrine
Kido Shrine enshrines Kido Takayoshi who accomplished the Meiji Restoration as the Shinto deity of scholarship and the martial arts.
Kido Shrine enshrines Kido Takayoshi who played an active role as the central figure of the idealists of the Choshu Domain in the end of the Edo period, and later was dedicated to modernization as a member of the Meiji New Government.
This shrine is known as one of the famous places in Yamaguchi City to see cherry blossoms with about 100 cherry trees and Kido Koen Park, developed from the shrine in the hillside of Otodoisan Mountain, which has beautiful Ume trees and autumn leaves. Citizens enjoy this place throughout the year.
