Chinryutei
Kido Takayoshi, Saigo Takamori and Okubo Toshimich had secret conferences for the Satsuma-Choshu Alliance at Chinryutei.
The wealthy merchant Abe family’s place was used as the headquarters of the system of 'alternate attendance' by a daimyo in Edo in Yamaguchi and Chinryutei was located in a part of the family’s estate as a house separated from the main building. In the end of the Edo period, Saigo Takamori, Okubo Toshimichi, Komatsu Tateaki and others from the Satsuma Domain visited Yamaguchi and stayed at this Chinryutei to have many secret conferences for the Satsuma-Choshu Alliance with Kido Takayoshi, Ito Hirobumi, Hirosawa Masaomi and others from the Choshu Domain as the Overthrow of the Shogunate movement was progressing.
