Kameyama Park Summit Green

The green on the summit of the small mountain in Kameyama Park was built in 1900 as a place to erect six statues, including one of Mori Takachika (1819–1871), the 13th daimyo (feudal lord) of Choshu Domain (present-day Yamaguchi Prefecture), who played an instrumental role in the Meiji Restoration that saw the establishment of modern governance in Japan in 1868. The summit green offers nice views of noted spots in Yamaguchi such as the Five-Storied Pagoda of Rurikoji Temple and Yamaguchi Xavier Memorial Church as well as the different countenances of the city throughout the seasons.
