Kozan Cemetery

Kozan Cemetery
From the beginning Regeneration

This cemetery is a burial ground for lords of the Choshu Domain (roughly equivalent to today’s Yamaguchi Prefecture). The Choshu Domain lord was the head of the main house of the Mori clan. This cemetery was created after Mori Takachika, the 13th lord of Choshu Domain, moved his residence from the city of Hagi to Yamaguchi.
Takachika died in Yamaguchi in 1871 and was buried here. The cemetery also holds the graves of his son Motonori and grandson Motoakira, as well as their wives.
